New Video Of Rocky Memphis

Little update on the progress of Rocky Memphis, few updates in gameplay since the last video

265 rooms created already, Smila is having a great time on this one.

In other news, Smila has rendered a new set of sprites for the LAST NINJA – looking good. Think there may be a few too many sprite frames – something we can look at laster (there are 16 for the idle animation even ! )

We should be starting soon on the iPhone game #1 level design, that’ll be interesting. AndyH should have me a set of tiles to work with real soon.

busy time at the moment but then that’s how I like it

we have 2 iPhone games nearing completion, thanks to Ric we have the majority of the gfx done on one project and I have andyh full time on the other one

Smila has over 260 rooms done in the rocky Memphis game with 95% of the game engine done.

scarbaeus has 2 levels left to code but all gfx done

final ninja ; Smila is going to try and model the Actors all in 3d and render them as spruces. the base ninja model looks class so far

the retro arcade has been modelled but is failing to load. this is definitely a longer term project. shall try and get uncle to help out with some of the games if he’s up for it

rumour has it that system 3 is set to release silly putty on the current crop of consoles/phones. how kewl will that be!!!!!

all this and my wife is having her 20 week scan next week, we are asking the babys gender. how exciting……

smila came to me with a request todo a c64 game, heck i love c64 games but really dont fancy going back to 6502 thank you very much. next best thing, a pc game with c64 gfx and gameplay

smila then also said he wanted todo 700 screens – yea ok! so a week later and the game engine is done and smila has over 200 screens done already

on another note, we have another gfx artist joining our iphone app development…… you should see a release soon!

Retroaction has just released their final issue

j-OMG have just posted some sad news that the PDF retrogame magazine “Retroaction” is closing its doors.

It has been a cracking read, the established retro magazine could take a few pointers.

Oh and the last issue has a stonking review of Armalyte as well!!

We take it as an honor that final farewell page is that of the game over screen from Armalyte……..

Good News for iMac Users

Good news peeps

Ive compiled Bruce Lee and Quantasm for the iMac. I just have to protect the media (as this is automatically done for me in windows) bit more work to be done for the Mac.

Oh also seems that I have a problem switching between a window and fullscreen mode. When I get a bit of time I’ll finish them off -sooner rather than later !

Im pleased to announce that my lovely wife has just had her 12 week scan, im going to be a dad for the second time !

No problems, in fact he/she is actually 13 weeks, which gives us a due date of the 5th January 2011. Lets hope its later than that- I would have hated a birthday around Xmas and New Year, joint xmas birthday presents and all that :S

“Dr Who type thing” demo has just been released.

It’s a quick “intro” teaser for the upcoming game. Download it here
Unzip and run the EXE, oh check out the readme.txt for the key controls. Feedback welcome.

Its a platform puzzler based on the BBC Classic Icon Dr Who, comes complete with sonic screwdriver

Its a short demo just to see if there is any interest in such a game, the engine is all up and ready to go.

just arrived in rockford illinois after 3 days in new york.
we went to the top of the “rock” and i really thought i wason the set of bio shock, it just needed a little sister to run around to make it complete

new york was a really nice place to visit but its very expensive but then expected it to be really as london is the same

my son got to see a bloke in an iron man suit so he was happy too. the toys r us in times square have a captive market

its raining here at the moment and its not going to be a pleasent day unfortunatly. plently of things to go andsee and do tho

This year they recreated a stylish pinup calendar of girls of the 1940’s and 50’s using a mixture of professional and amateur models, with all services being given for free and all proceeds going straight to Help For Heroes

Because of its the success they will be producing another one for 2011.

This is where I need your help. There is a shortlist of 26 girls with the top 12 (obviously) getting on the calendar.

Waiting for graphics can be very boring So in the meantime Smila has suggested we do Scarabaeus.

Does mean I can dip my toe into 3D again. Although this was going to be a quick remake it has meant I have had to learn to use a 3rd party graphics solution. I’ve wanted to use Irrlicht since CHOLO days but havent got around to it. Surprisingly im very underwhelmed by it but it’ll do. Does mean using shaders as we are going for that spooky atmosphere……….
