Finally got around to starting myxbox/mame cab.

     So far so good Are you thinking about adding a coin door? Would look cool and would make the side a little more interesting You can even wire it up to mame so it accepts credits for the complete authentic look. If you want any contact for coin doors, or side art then just let me know.

     BTW, top tip for painting it… don’t use a paint brush instead use a roller. When you use a paint brush you can see the strokes, a roller gives a much better finish (learnt this this hard way).

   Im going to go for a high gloss finish, apparenlty this can be done with MDF theres quite a few resources on how todo it on the net.

   Im going to the inconspicuous look (hence no coin slot) as its going to be put into the lounge.

   Im planning on getting the top to hinge – like a piano – so that the monitor can be used in a more conventional manner too.

   The dimensions of the wood have come from plans but I have put it together “my way”. The instructions went a bit too heavy into woodworking for me.
