Jetset Willy Online is a remake of the classic game, only this version you can play with all your mates online over the Internet no less. There’s a number of multiplayer game styles and you can even play with your Willy by yourself if you want.

Just an update to say JSW:O Alert v1.2 is now available from the website (http://hades.distant-angel.co.uk/) A few issues fixed, a few things added/changed, and compatibility with Firefox 3.5

I’ll have to check with AndyH, he did set one up but I think the registration for new users has been turned off.
Hes away for a weeks holiday. I’ll prompt him when hes back.
Speaking of AndyH, im trying to get him to take over the reigns of JSWOL. Ive coded all the new stuff it literally needs testing and then fixing of any bugs. As Im on Armalyte at the moment I dont have the time. A few chosen words on tis comments section might spur him on ?
It seems like the game is in a rather deplorable condition right now, and it makes me sad. I can’t get JSWO Alert to work anymore, so I don’t notice if people host any games. The forums are also missing, which means that I really have no way of contacting the people I used to play JSWO with, and the new version which has been in development for years is still unfinished.
I guess I should move on, but I don’t want to leave my friends here. If you can get the forums working again and get the new version out of the door, I’m sure the community will come back, too. A working level editor would do wonders to the game’s lastability.
What problems are you having with JSW:O Alert?
I click the “Install Now” button, and then a message pops up and says “Firefox can’t install the file at jswoalert.xpi because of a download error…” or something like that. My Firefox is in Swedish so I don’t know the exact wording.
Hmm, sounds like it simply couldn’t connect to get the download. Have you tried it since and, if so, how did it go? I’m currently fixing a few issues with it and should have a new version fairly soon. I’ve set up a Twitter feed (@entrancetohades) for people to follow so I can let them know when updates are available.
Still not working. Here’s the exact error message.

Translated to English it reads “Firefox could not download the file on … jswoalert.xpi … because of a download error. -228″
Give it a try now. I’d never had a problem with it, but some security change in Firefox meant that, as soon as I removed the site from my whitelist, it wouldn’t install, even when I put it back. I discovered FX had a problem at the point of having clicked “Install”, it was incorrectly getting a 404 from my download script. I think it’s fixed … let me know how you get on!

It is a shame as Ive done all the work its just testing (and has been for about the last 6 months).
The problem is im involved in paid work (for a change) which takes presidence.
Unless Andy can take over the reigns ….

ANYHOO: So, where is everyone?
To be honest, I miss you guys, all of you, even monothu and… maybe mel
I need us to get back together, regroup the JSWO comumne.
I find myself wondering about Jackie, Zara, Jackie, and that bird who always had a fast character for some odd reason (yeah technically it was cheating, but she was a girl, so fair do’s) and all the other members of our little community.
I find myself sat here (in my scabby little flat) eating a pack of ginger nut crunch creams (on ASDA roll back) as part of my new diet; its cheat day, I’ll be having some fried egg and chips later, along with some milk protein drink and choc muffins some three hours after the chips!
I am hoping to get down to 230lbs at 10% bodyfat.
This weight loss would be far easier to achieve if we were all back together in the way that only true lovers can ever know.

Old-time JSW:O player here. Just wanted to let you know that when a new version of Jet Set Willy Online will finally be released, I’ll be back.
=( seems like one of my old favs has died out.
imo, releasing the test version will give you several players to test the system, bring alot of people back and keep us quiet for another 2 years =P

Once Armalyte is out the way I shall set some time aside to start testing of JSWOL 3.1. Ive updated to the latest version of RAKNET (network functions) to take advantage of any developments RAKNET has gone thru.
I have got JSWOL 3.1 all connecting and working, I forgot how much we had put into 3.1, the mines are “willy on skates” funny
have to see if everyone likes them tho (they are selectable as game options)
I think theres some changes I will have to make to the user generated levels as it might prove to be a bit of a mess – we’ll see.

I’ve got a problem with hosting game. I’m hosting server and then no one can join. It apears on ovine’s page as a current game but no one can join.
My girlfriend (not the same IP) tried too but i can’t join her game. And yesterday i joined someone’s game without any problem.
If anyone knows what i missed, thanks for telling me what to do.

You can also even click through from the Route Planner to get your route highlighted on the map!

Could you make it so The Bathroom is the default “From” room in the Route Planner? Alternatively, you could make it so that if no “From” room is selected, it selects The Bathroom automatically.
Every time I use it I need to select The Bathroom, and it feels like that should be the default since it is the room most people start their race in
