If you've enjoyed any of our freeware games and would like to support the Ovine by Design website, a small donation would be extremely appreciated. Our thanks.
The aim of the game is to clear all 20 levels of droids, by either taking control of each one, or destroying them. Gaining access to higher level droids allows you to inflict more damage (and sustain less).
Reports indicate that the droid crew of a galactic space freighter has turned against their masters. A droid ‘Influence Device’ has been beamed aboard To help you regain control of the situation.
Use the Influence Device To destroy the droids by shooting them, ramming them, Or temporarily taking control of a droid’s circuitry [transferring] to redirect its energy and armaments against its own kind.
Your goal is to clear all droids from Each of the space freighter’s 20 decks. When you have completely cleared a deck of droids, the ship’s computer shuts down the deck lights And you are awarded bonus points.

Your paradroid download has viruses. I would love to give it a whirl and it’s a great idea to remake that game, but my virus pgm says it has Heur.Pck.MoleBox. It catches it during installation.
Sorry Your virus software is misreporting it as a virus.
Dude the game is awesome, I feel 20 years younger !! Only thing I miss is the save option. I am too old to play the whole 20 decks in one day.
Or did I oversee it somewhere ?
I LOVED this game as a kid and I love it all over again! It has the same “eerie” feeling of solitude on the decks and the movement is so smooth. Do you remember the kids show “Terrohawks”? It featured spherical droids and it reminds me of that and how i loved it on Saturdays. Playing this for hours all over again, pi**ed I can’t clear more than 12 decks! How do you get on to the BIG decks to the left?
I played this game to death and as far as I could tell, It had no ending.
Believe this or not but I cleared FIVE SHIPS in a row, that’s one life, one game.
Yes, you read that right: FIVE!!! And that took long enough.
I remember saying to myself, woohoo, I’ve clocked it. Only to start all over again on another ship.
On the start of the sixth ship, I turned the damn thing off as there was no end in sight!
Who knows, if I didn’t, I may still be playing now – lol!
I thought this was a fantastic game. It’s just that there must be an infinite amount of ships.
Perhaps Braybrook didn’t expect anyone to get that far or it was ment to be a highest score type game.
It didn’t get any harder as you progressed either – ship wise mean! Ships two to five are all identical as the first.
To get on the other side of the ship, ya need to get go to the second level down in the middle and find the other lift – think its a red level.
On the C64, this was my favorite game. When I found a C64 emulator for windows, I enjoyed it again. Here’s a native port, yay!
It looks like a good first attempt. Some issues I saw:
1. If you hit the windows key, the program disappears without having an icon on the task bar. It’s annoying because the Z key is close to the Windows key on many keyboards.
2. I can’t figure out how to fire diagonally. I hold down two arrow keys, but it doesn’t fire. The emulator version got this right.
3. The gameplay seems too slow. The C64 versions seemed much faster. 1MHz fast? 2×2.8GHz slow? Some optimization needs to be done. I even reduced my screen size, still slow.
4. In the original, one could fire against the robot’s fire to have them cancel out mid-air (sprite collision?). This provided some defense against robot fire.
5. Hitting the Z key to initiate a transfer has some lag to it.
Anyway, great work so far. I’ll make a donation now and will be glad to make another donation after two of the items above is fixed.
BTW: Shout out to Droid Assault (puppygames). If you liked Paradroid, you’ll like this game, too.
