The super stars of .NET magazine are trying to escape with the deadline looming! A fun game made in a day, based upon the old catch the bomb type games found on many a Game and Watch.

Instructions

The Future Publishing magazine staff have an edition of .net to finish, but it’s a hot sunny day and they want to go to the beach. As boss and all round super guy / gal you’ve got to keep your staff in check and stop them escaping , the only problem is they have resorted to jumping out of the windows with fatal consequences! But never fear, your trusty pillow will save them.

Select the hero who will save the day, then use the cursor keys to move and catch the jumping staff on your pillow. Press the SHIFT key to turn around. The game is split up into editions, each getting harder. If all staff are splatted on the pavement the game is over. Good luck!

Where did the idea come from?
If you have looked around the website, you may have noticed we like to remake old retro classics. This game originally started out as a remake, but it soon found a life of its own as an original game.

This is a pretty hard to find LCD game called Bakudan Man (1981), I was given it some time in the 1980’s by a neighbour who had been working abroad. The instructions are in Japanese but this does not pose a problem as there are simply two buttons – left and right.

A little man appears at the window and drops a bomb, you catch it. We decided to change the bombs to people and this gave us an opportunity to have fun with sound effects :) We also gave it the cartoon treatment (like our Octopus remake). The theme and title of the game only developed when I was reading my .net magazine. In it there were plenty of photo’s of the .net team and their mugs look much better than the cartoon faces I could draw, so .net all stars was born!
